About Robyn
Robyn is the founder of Lichen Consulting and serves as the company’s chief strategist, providing nuanced analysis and advice to clients on some of the most complex issues facing the world today. Robyn’s greatest strength lies in how deeply she listens to her clients, allowing her to work towards mutual benefit and create shared value for the communities she works in.
Robyn’s career has spanned more than 20 years in the community development sector where she has worked in non-profit management, at territorial and provincial organizations, and in government at the municipal and federal level. Prior to founding Lichen Consulting, Robyn served as Executive Director of the Made in BC Society, as a bilingual program officer at the Canada Council for the Arts, and as Director of Membership and Visitor Services at Nunavut Tourism.
She also served as the Sustainability Coordinator for the City of Iqaluit, working to improve the social, cultural, environmental, and economic sustainability of the community. In this role Robyn was the driving force behind Iqaluit’s Sustainable Community Plan, a two-year effort to mobilize the community towards long-term planning.
Robyn accepted the Sustainable Community Award from the Federation of Canadian Municipalities on behalf of the City of Iqaluit and was named a top sustainability practitioner by Alternatives Journal. She received the First Nations Bank Award for her commitment to community development and a Certificate of Excellence from the City of Iqaluit.
Robyn is a life-long learner who received a Professional Diploma in Community Dance Studies, an MA from City University London, a Postgraduate Certificate in Education from Canterbury Christ Church University, and is currently earning an MBA in Community Economic Development from Cape Breton University. As part of her MBA program, she gained specialization in Sustainable Arctic Tourism through the University of Tromso in Norway. Robyn lives in Iqaluit, Nunavut and maintains strong ties to Canada’s western and eastern coasts.
