About Laura
She/Her
Laura is a Senior Consultant at Lichen, specializing in leadership coaching, human resources, policy development, and strategic planning. Laura supports leaders and organizations in developing healthy and productive workplaces. She offers advice on leadership development, organizational structure and design, workplace culture and policies, recruitment and retention, and negotiation and labour relations.
Before joining Lichen, Laura practiced labour and employment law, working with a private law firm and acting as regional in-house counsel for a national union. Laura also served as Assistant Vice-President of Labour and Employee Relations at Dalhousie University. In this role, she was responsible for leading the Labour and Employee Relations team, and advised senior leaders on a variety of human resources matters including the development of a new approach to service delivery and service standards.
Laura is a practising lawyer with the Nova Scotia Barristers’ Society and she holds a Master’s of Education, with a specialization in Counselling.
Laura currently resides on the East Coast with her two children. When she’s not working, Laura is playing on the beach or hiking the coastline with her dog, Indiana.
